Clinical Profile and Short-Term Outcome of Cerebral Venous Thrombosis in a Nepalese Population: A Retrospective Study

Introduction: Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is a rare cause of stroke. The increased awareness among the physicians and suspiciousness myriad its clinical presentation with availability investigation modules therapeutic options has led to decrement mortality morbidity. study intends assess etiological profile patients CVT also short-term outcomes if any factors are associated it. Methods: It was hospital-based retrospective, observational cross-sectional at tertiary care center in Kathmandu adult from August 2019 2021. Clinical, etiological, radiological data, outcome discharge, influencing this were assessed where possible. Data analyzed using SPSS 25 software. Analysis descriptive data performed independent (admission date < 7 days) analyzed. Results: There total 15 cases included study. showed female predominance (66.7%. mean age 48.87 years. Four (26.7%) had hypertension. history oral contraceptive pill (OCP) use five (33.33%) females. A significant association present direct signs CT scan (p=0.02), low erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), p= (0.02). Conclusions: OCP hypertension increasingly recognized as risk for CVT. presence head high ESR have predictive value assessing outcomes.
